A court here sentenced a man to death for killing his wife following a feud over her alleged extramarital affairs in 2013 recently .
The condemned convict is Jisan Chowdhury Ziku, 28, son of Md Sabnaullah Chowdhury of New Morail area in the district town.
District and Session’s Judge Mohammad Shafiul Azam passed the verdict at noon.
According to the prosecution, the convict strangled his wife, Jesmin Akhter Ankhi, with her scarf on August 27, 2013.
After the incident, Ziku called Sadar Model Police Station and informed police that he killed her wife over her extramarital affairs. Police later arrested Ziku.
