A man in Netrokona has been sentenced to death for killing his four-year-old son. The court of Netrokoan’s Additional Sessions Judge Md Abdul Hamid delivered the verdict of 2008 murder on Monday in presence of the convict Md Abu Hanif.According to the case details, 42-year-old Hanif had a feud with his wife Ayesha Khatun. The wifeleft Hanif’s home at Minkikanda Village of Durgapur Upazila, leaving their four children. On July 15, 2008, the couple’s son ‘Sakib’ was crying and looking for his mother when Hanif hacked him to death. A case was filed by Khatun the same day with Durgapur police, said Public Prosecutor Saiful Alam Pradip. Police pressed charges against Hanif in September the same year.
