A court here today sentenced a man to death penalty for killing one person in Nabopalli area under Sonadanga police station in the city.
The court also fined Taka 5,000 to the convict.
Judge of Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court Md Shahidul Islam handed down the verdict against Khokon, a residence in Gopalganj district.
According to the procecution, Khokon stabbed Md Bashar, who married Khokon’s former wife Jesmin, to death in Nabopally Mosque lane area on November 6, 2015.
On the next day, Jesmin filed a case against her first husband with Sonadanga Police Station in this connection.
