A man killed his wife and two children and then took his own life after giving a suicide post on Facebook at Debpur village in Chandpur Sadar upazila on Monday morning.
Police recovered the bodies of Mainuddin, 35, his wife Fatema Begum, 24, their five-year-old daughter Mithila and one-year-old son Siam, family sources claimed.

Mainuddin worked at a bakery factory in Chattogram from where he returned home on Sunday night and brought back Fatema who had gone to her father’s house in Dakkhin upazila of Chandpur after the quarrel. The couple had another fight on that night, according to Firoza Begum.
Around 4:00am, Mainuddin’s elder brother Jashim Uddin called Firoza from Malaysia and asked her to check Mainuddin claiming he had given a post on Facebook about killing his wife and children and committing suicide.
Police found Fatema’s body nearby pond while the others’ bodies from inside the house, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandpur Model Police Station Md Nasim Uddin.
The bodies were sent to Chandpur Government General Hospital for autopsy, the OC said.
Police suspect that Mainuddin might have committed suicide by hanging himself after killing his wife and strangled two children, he added.
