A man allegedly strangled his wife and five-year-old daughter to death in a rented house in Ghoradia Banikpara area of Narsingdi on Tuesday morning
The deceased were identified as Hafeza Begum, 35, wife of one Kabir Hossain from Gazipura village of Raipura upazila in Narsingdi district and their daughter Sadia Begum, 5.
Police recovered the bodies getting information
around 11:00am and sent those to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy. Quoting locals, police said Hafeza Begum was blind and used to earn living by begging. Her drug addict husband, who was a rickshaw-puller, used to torture her often for money.
The locals, in suspicion, broke into the house and discovered the twin bodies. Later, police recovered the bodies from the house.
Narsingdi Sadar Model Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Tapash Kanti Roy said that finger marks were found in deceased’s necks. Primary it is suspected that they might have been killed.
Police are trying to pick up killer Kabir, the police official added.
