A man was stabbed to death by miscreants at Poikkhali village in Bhandaria upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Jalal Hawlader, 45, son of Kader Hawlader of the village.
Officer-in-charge of Bhandaria Police Station Quamruzzaman Talukdar said a group of miscreants picked up Jalal from his house in the evening and stabbed him indiscriminately near Kuberer Khal (canal) by his house, leaving him critically injured.
Later, locals rescued him and took him to Bhandaria Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead. Victim’s wife Paru Begum claimed that Jalal told her before his death that two people — Maruf and his father Jahangir — attacked him.
