A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his nephew in Kalibari area of the district town early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Samir Dey, a goldsmith of the area.
Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Abu Mohammad Fazlul Karim said Akash Dey along with his friend Sunny entered his uncle Samir’s house at about 2:00 am and started to loot valuables.
As Samir resisted them, Akash and Sunny stabbed him with sharp weapons indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Police also arrested Akash and Sunny along with three sharp weapons and some tolas of silver ornaments from an abandoned house in Kalibari area on Saturday morning.
