A man was stabbed to death and his wife critically injured by robbers at Majharia village in Nabinagar upazila on early Friday. The deceased was identified as Chhoton Saha, 35, a resident of the village.
Imtiaj Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Nabinagar Police Station, said a gang of robber swooped on Chhoton’ house around 3:30am and looted 10 tola gold ornaments and cash TK 1.50 lakh.
The bandits stabbed Chhoton and his wife Smrity Rani Saha as they tried to resist them, leaving Chhoton dead on the spot and Smrity injured.
