A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his nephew at Chatul bazar in Kanaighat upazila early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Nazim Uddin, 38, son of late Faizul Haque, a resident of Parbatpur Ratanpur village in Borochatul union of the upazila.
Nazim’s nephew Almas stabbed him indiscriminately when he went to the bazar around 8pm, leaving him critically injured, said police.
Later, he was taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 12.30 am on Friday.
Later, police arrested Almas.
However, the reason behind the murder could not be known immediately.
