A man was shot to death allegedly by some robbers at Chotodesh village in Kanaighat upazila early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Ifzal Uddin, 45, son of Abdul Jalil of the village.
Abdul Ahad, officer-in-charge of Kanaighat Police Station, said a gang of robbers, numbering 14/15, swooped on the house of
Abdul Jalil breaking open the door around 3:30am and looted valuables after keeping the house inmates hostages at gunpoint.
At one stage, Ifzal tried to resist the robbers, prompting them to shot him, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue.
