Man sent to jail for helping younger brother in PEC exam

Md Shafiqul Islam, a third year student of Ananda Mohan College, has been awarded two years jail on charge of question forgery and helping his brother during the Primary Education Completion examination in Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur district.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Nalitabari upazila Jahidur Rahman issued the order on Sunday.
Eyewitnesses said Shafiqul Islam collected a question paper of English 1st paper and corrected its questions for his younger brother who sat for the PEC examination.
Shafiqul went to the centre at 11am with the corrected question paper. He was helping his brother through window of a room of the centre building. At the same time, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Nalitabari upazila Jahidur Rahman conducted a drive against the question forgery.
Suddenly, Jahidur Rahman saw the activities of Shafiqul and observed it for at least 10 minutes. The police members caught following the order of the AC Land.
Shafiqul admiited that he collected the question paper from the facebook and other social media. “I Just came here to help my brother,” he said in a confessional statement.
The AC Land then awarded two years jail to Shafiqul. Later he was sent to jail.
