An elderly man was run over by a garbage vehicle of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) in Turag area of the capital on Monday morning.
Deceased Mohammad Sonju Miah, 55, hailed from Razibpur village under Kendua Police Station in Netrakona district.

Turag Police Station officer in-charge OC Md Nurul Mottakin said the accident took place around 10:00am in Bashpatti area adjacent to Sector N- 15 of Balurmath when the man was crossing road.
Police, later, recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.
Locals seized the vehicle, but its driver managed to flee the scene.
