Man rescued from export container at Ctg Port

A worker was rescued from an export container at the entrance of the port here on Monday.
Director of the Port for security Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Gaffar, said hearing screams from a container, which was scheduled to go to Singapore, the security workers of the port rescued Babul Tripura, 35, a day labourer, from the container in the morning.
Later he was taken to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital, he said.
The container, owned by private company ‘Carriage Container Yard’ came at the port from Sitakunda around 4 am, he added.
Contacted, Abul Kashem, a contractor of the company, said the worker might have fallen asleep inside the container while uploading goods in the night.
