A man reportedly threatened to kill a woman’s one and half year old daughter while he raped the woman, a mother of two, in Ujirpur upazila of Barisal on Tuesday night.
The suspect, Liton Sardar, held a knife to the infant’s throat in order to be obeyed by the woman during the rape.The incident was documented in a case filed by the woman with Ujirpur police station under the Women and Child Repression Prevention Act, according to the police station’s Officer-in-Charge Ziaul Ahsan.
Additional Superintendent of Police Naimul Haque said the case is under investigation while police are trying to arrest the absconding accused.
Police sent the woman to the One-Stop Crisis Centre of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital on Wednesday morning.
