A man was found murdered near his house in Karnaphuli upazila of Chittagong on Saturday three weeks after he filed a general diary mentioning a death threat received from his brother and cousin.
The body of Alamgir alias Hakkaiya, 48, son of Saleh Ahmed, bore injury marks in the head, legs and throat, according to the police inquest report.
He did not return after he had gone out of home on Saturday afternoon, said police.
The body was smeared with mud, said Karnaphuli Police Station Sub-inspector Belal Hossain. “Primarily, we suspect that he was strangled.” Alamgir’s younger brother Sekandar, 30, and cousin Nurul Abser, 50, have been on the run since the body was found in a bamboo garden, said police.
