A man was allegedly murdered over family feud in the city’s Mohammadpur area on early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Sheikh Kamrul Hossain, 45, inhabitant of Salimullah Road of Mohammadpur, police said.
Quoting the family members of the victim, Mohammadpur Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mofazzal Hossain said, “Police recovered the body which was tied with rope from the second floor at House No. 9/15, Salimullah Road in Mohammadpur.”
The police official said that, the incident might have taken place in a feud
over land among the family.
The recovered body’s hands were tied with rope, SI said.
The body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy, police official said.
“We are investigating the incident and will be sure of the murder after receiving postmortem report,” the SI said.
They victim’s younger brother Sheikh Arif Hossain filed an unnatural death (UD) case in this connection.
