A housewife was stabbed to death by her husband in Dhaka’s Pallabi area on Monday morning.
The victim was identified as Selina Begum (40).
Police took her husband in custody after victim’s son caught him while he was trying to flee.
Rabiul allegedly slit his wife’s throat and wrapped the body with a blanket before leaving the house, Kazi Wajed Ali, officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station, said quoting victim’s son, whose name could not be known immediately.
The son told police that he last saw his parents talking in their room around 11:15am. Nearly half an hour later, he saw his father going outside. Minutes later, he went to talk to his mother but saw her wrapped in a blanket, the OC said.
He did not get any response from his mother, the son said. The boy than unraveled the blanket and saw his mother in a pool of blood in it, the police officer quoted him.
The son immediately ran after his father and caught him.
On information, police recovered the body and were preparing to send it to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
