A man allegedly strangled his wife to death over family feud at Balukhali Rohingya Camp under Ukhia Upazila of the district early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Ayesha Begum, 19, wife Md Zahid Hossen of the camp.
Other inmates of the camp said at one stage of an altercation, Zahid strangled his wife. As she became senseless, she was rushed to a local hospital where she was declared dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Ukhia Police Station Abul Khair said, being informed, they recovered the body and sent it to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, Zahid went into hiding after the incident.
