Man kills mother, grandmother for drug money!

An addicted youth reportedly stabbed his mother and grandmother to death over the dispute of money to buy drug at Nauda village in Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah district on Friday afternoon.
The deceased are Marjina Khatun, 50, and her mother Shamsunnahar, 70,  
 in habitants of the village. Marjina, a lab Assistant of Maheshpur Girls School, used to live at her parent’s house as she got divorced from her husband in 1999, reports our district correspondent quoting locals.  
Rashedul Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Maheshpur Police Station, said, “Marjina used to live with her mother Shamsunnahar and 28-year old son Imran Hossain in the house. Imran, who had developed mental illness for taking excessive drug and took treatment from Pabna Mental Hospital four months ago. He used to hit his mother and grandmother when they tried to force him to take medicine.”
“Some psychiatric drugs and a prescription prescribed by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Psychiatrist Jahangir Hossain, were also found in the house. Imran had an altercation with his mother and grandmother as they tried to give him medicine around 2:00am. At one stage, Imran stabbed Marjina and Shamsunnahar indiscriminately, leaving them critically injured. Later, they were taken to Jashore Medical College Hospital where the duty doctors declared them dead.”
He said, a drive is underway to arrest Imran as he escaped after committing the crime.
Shohag Hussain, a resident of the village, said Imran became drug addicted after passing the SSC examination and since then he used to beat his mother for money to buy drugs.
However, some locals claimed Imran was a drug addict and used to club his mother and grandmother often for cash.
Nasir Hossain, a resident of the same village, told our correspondent that Imran was admitted to Pabna Mental Hospital and got released four months ago.
