An elder brother was killed by his younger brother at Taliapara village under Nandail upazila here on Friday afternoon.
He was identified as Abu Bakar Siddique, 42, son of Abdus Sattar of the village.
Police, quoting locals and family sources said, Khokon was locked in a fracas with his elder brother Abu Bakar over damage of jute plants by Abu Bakar’s goat at 11am. At one stage, he hit his elder brother with a bamboo stick on his head, leaving him seriously injured, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Murad Ali Sheikh of Nandail Model Police Station.
Later, Abu Bakar was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) where he died at 5pm.
