A man was killed in an attack by rivals over a land-related dispute at Charkadia village in Kamalnagar upazila on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Al Masud Limon, 50, son of Motahar Hossain, a resident of the area.
Quoting locals, Md Kabir Ahmmed, officer-in-charge of Kamalnagar Police Station, said there had been a longstanding dispute between Al Masud and Nur Mohammad over the ownership of a piece of land.
Over the issue, they locked in an altercation around 5:30pm.
At one state, the men of Nur Mohammad beat Al Masud mercilessly, leaving him severely injured.
