A man was beaten to death over a land related dispute at Sahapur village in Faridganj upazila on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Hannan Sheikh, 55, son of Adam Ali Sheikh, a resident of the village.
Mostafa Kamal, officer-in-charge of Faridganj Police Station, said Adam and another villager Abu Taher had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.
Over the issue, they locked in an altercation around 12pm.
At one stage, Taher’s two sons Imran and Momin Hannan attacked Adam and beat him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.
Later he was rushed to Faridganj Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Chandpur Hospital Morgue.
