A man allegedly a gang leader of river grabbing syndicate was stabbed to death by his rival groups at Dhanail -Shymnagur in Kishoreganj sadar on Friday over land grabbing, supremacy.
The victim was identified as Abu Hanif alias Hashu (48), son of late Noru Miah in Harua of Kishoreganj town. Later, he was rushed to Kishoreganj General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
There are numerous cases against him in many police stations in the country on various charges including murder, robbery, kidnapping, land robbery, terrorism, arms and extortion. Kishoreganj Sadar Model Police Station Officer -in-Charge (OC) Abu Bakker Siddique PPM told the New Nation that of these, only Kishoreganj Sadar Model Police Station has 12 cases include murder, robbery, weapons, drugs, police assault, land grabbing, violence against women and extortion.
