A man was killed centering a land dispute with his cousin at Mandarkandi village in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Nasir Uddin (44), son of Abdul Karim ( Mangal) from Mandarkandi village of Pakundia upazila.
On the other hand, Swapan Mia, who is accused in the murder of her cousin, gave a confession statement after the incident.
Police and locals said, there was a long-standing dispute over a piece of land and establishment of supremacy between the sons of two brothers Abdul Karim Mangal and Abdul Baten Mia from Pakundia’s Madhya Mandarkandi.
At one stage of the argument, Swapan slapped Nasir Uddin on the neck with Mia Da. At this, Nasir Uddin’s throat was cut and blood started coming out from his mouth.
Victim Nasir died on the way to the nearby Katiadi Health Complex.
OC of Pakundia Police Station Sarowar Jahan told The New Nation that receiving an information, Police rushed to spot , recovered the body and sent to morgue for autopsy.
The efforts are underway to arrest the killer Swapan Mia. Further legal action is being taken in this incident”, OC in Pakundia added.
