A man killed in a reported gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion members in city’s Keraniganj area.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
According to RAB-10 sources, acting on secret information about drug trading, the elite force conducted a drive in Swapnadhora residential area early morning on Friday.
Sensing the presence of RAB members, drug traders oepened fire on them. In retaliation, the elite force also fired back that triggered a gunfight.
At one stage, when the
drug traders retreated, RAB men found a bullet-hit man.
He was, later, declared dead at Dhaka Medical college Hospital.
South Keraniganj Police Station inspector Ismail Hossain told media that he was informed about death of a man in a gunfight with RAB.
But, did nor receive any formal complaint in this regard.
