A clash, erupted from disputes over donations made to a shrine in Chittagong, has left one killed, said police.
The incident was reported late Tuesday from the southeastern district’s Boalkhali Upazila.
The victim has been identified as Md Shah Alam, 52, a resident of Charandwip area, said Boalkhali police’s Sub-Inspector Md Faruq.
“A clash broke out on Tuesday over donations made to the shrine, when Shah Alam was struck with a sharp weapon,” he told bdnews24.com.
Alam was rushed to Upazila Health Complex, where the doctors pronounced him dead, added the police officer.
Police is preparing to open a case over the killing and the body has been sent to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy, he said.
