A man was killed and his daughter injured when a rashly-driven bus crashed into the rickshaw they were riding near Malibagh Super Market in the city on Saturday morning.
The victim was identified as Motiur Rahman, 65, owner of ‘Badhan clinic’ of Khilgaon area,
Police said, Motiur along with his university student daughter Badhan was going to Malibagh by a rickshaw to catch the university bus in the morning.
When they reached near Malibagh Super Market at around 6:15 am, a speeding bus hit their rickshaw from
its rear side and fled the scene. Motiur received fatal injuries to the head while his daughter to the hands and legs.
He succumbed to his injuries on the spot while his daughter was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Sub-Inspector Soumon Barua of Rampura police station. The body was kept at the DMCH morgue for an autopsy, the SI added.
