A man was killed after a truck hit his motorcycle in Dhaka’s Shyamoli area on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Ejdadul Haque Ejaj (40), from Cumilla.
A speeding truck hit the motorcycle near Shyamoli footbridge around 11:00pm, leaving Ejaj critically injured.
He was first rushed to the nearby Shaheed Suhrawardy Medial College Hospital but later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The OC said the truck also hit an auto-rickshaw and two rickshaws, leaving several injured whose identity could not be known immediately.
Police seized the truck but its driver fled. A helper of the truck driver was detained.
The body was sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy.
