A man was killed and 7 others were injured in a clash between people of two rival villagers in Bajitpur of Kishoreganj due to land dispute on Friday noon.
The deceased, Ramjan Ali (Kala Miah) 57, was son of Moti Miah at Kukrabai in Bajitpur upazila.
Police and locals said there had been a rivalry between people of Kukbarai and Nayahatti villagers over mosque’s land, waterbody and establishing supremacy for long.
The injured men were admitted to Bajitpur hHospital and Zahurul Islam Medical College Hospital.
When contact to Additional SP (Crime, Operation) in Kishoreganj Mohammad Noor-e-Alam told the New Nation that, on information police rushed to spot and addition police have been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident”
Bajitpur OC Shafiqul Islam said the body was sent to Kishorganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
