UNB, Chittagong :
A man was killed and four people were injured in an attack by a marauding buffalo at Waziarpara in Bakalia area of the city on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Nurul Islam, 50, a carpenter and a resident of the area.
Mohammad Mohsin, officer-in-charge of Bakali Police Station, said the incident took place in the area around 9.00pm when a violent buffalo pouched on some people while they were going to the local mosque for prayers, leaving five of them injured.
Later they were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where Nurul died after admission.
The buffalo was being brought in the area by some local butchers to be slaughtered ahead of Eid, said police.
