A man was killed by his elder brother over ownership of a piece of a mongo orchard at Bazrapur village of Moheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Mojibur Rahman Khokan, 55, son of Ali Kadar Mia from Bazrapur village of the said upazila. The locals handed over the killer brother identified as Azibar Rahman Mohan to local police.
Moheshpur Thana Officer-in-Charge Aminul Islam said there was a long conflict between the two brothers over ownership of a piece of mango orchard in the village.
On Tuesday morning the brothers suddenly started exchange of aggressive words and then a clash began. Mojibur sustained severe injuries when his elder brother Azibar kicked him and charged lethal weapons. The injured brother succumbed to his injuries when he was being taken to Kushtia General Hospital.
After the tragic incident, Azibar went home and closed the door, but the local people caught him and handed over to Moheshpur police.
