A motorcyclist named Mujahidur Rahman, 35, was killed after a tree fell on him on the Lake Road in front of the Chandrima Udyan area under Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station of Dhaka on Sunday morning.
Mujahidur Rahman, a medical equipment businessman, was declared dead at 10 am after police took him with the help of pedestrians to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital (SSMCH), said Sohrab Al Hossain, Inspector (Investigation) of Sher-e-Bangla Police Station, to the journalists.The incident occurred when the victim was going to his office on the Topkhana Road from his Mirpur residence around 9:15am, the police official said.
Witnesses said, when he was riding his motorbike, suddenly a tree broke down on the biker’s head in front of the Chandrima Udyan area. His head was found fractured. Seeing it, the nearby police took him to the hospital with the help of pedestrians.
The road was blocked to traffic for hours as the crashed tree fell on the road. The road was clear after the tree was removed.
