A man was detained with a “pistol” by Custom Officials at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Saturday.
The convict was identified as Hasan Ali. He arrived in Dhaka by a flight, Tk 712 from Turkey, around 5:30am, said Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sazzad Hossain of Dhaka Customs House.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Customs took position at key points of the Airport and arrested Hasan on suspicion.
After searching his luggage, Custom Officials seized a foreign pistol and 100 bullets, the official said.
Later he was handed over to police, AC added.
