Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in an anti-crime drive, arrested an alleged top-listed firearm trader with five firearms and ammunition in Chapainawabganj district on Saturday night.
The arrested person identified as Soiyab Ali, 23, son of Abdus Sattar of Santaspur village in Gomastapur upazila of the same district. Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in Chhotojambaria area of Bholahat upazila around 6:30 pm and arrested Soiyab Ali with four foreign-made pistols, one shooter-gun, eight magazines and 15 rounds of bullet. The arrested person along with the seized firearms and ammunition was handed over to police. A case has been filed with Bholahat Police in this connection.
