A passenger of flight MH196 was held with three kgs of gold from the city’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Wednesday night.
Dhaka Custom House (DCH) has arrested the accused Sheikh Sadi in this connection. The price of gold will be worth Tk1.5 crore.
Custom House Assistant Commissioner Solaiman Saif said that acting on a tip off, a DCH team challenged Sheikh Sadi, a passenger of flight MH196 which landed in Dhaka from Malaysia at 11:30pm.
After a body search, custom officials recovered 2.95 kilograms of gold worth Tk1.5 crore.
He was handed over to the police, AC added.
