UNB, Dhaka :Customs intelligence officials detained an outgoing passenger along with one lakh Saudi riyals while departing for Singapore at Shahjalal International Airport on Monday midnight.Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Dr Moinul Khan said tipped off, customs officials stopped Mohammad Anis,48, son of Nurul Islam, a resident of Munshiganj, when he was departing through the boarding bridge no 2 for Singapore by TR2657 flight at 11.30 pm.The officials recovered the currency which also included 602 Singapore dollars and 53 US dollars from his hand luggage. Under the forex law, a passenger can carry highest $5,000 during departure.
