UNB, Shariatpur :
Police arrested a man from Gagrijora village in Naria upazila on Saturday morning on charges of raping two and a half-year-old girl.
The arrestee is Alal Sheikh, 30, son of Moslem Sheikh of the village.
Quoting family members, Abu Bakkar, officer-in-charge of Naria Police Station, said Alal took the girl to a room and violated her while she was playing on their yard on Friday afternoon.
Later, the girl was taken to Sadar Hospital for medical test and her parents lodged a complaint with the police station, said the OC.
On the flowing day, police managed to detain Alal around 10 am.
