A man was arrested for allegedly raping of his fifteen-year old step-daughter at Barishur in Keraniganj Upazila of Dhaka district.
The father was identified as Saiful Islam, 40, a farmer.
The victim was admitted at One-stop Crisis Center (OCC) of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital
(DMCH) on March 16, police said. Keraniganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ferdous Hossain said, “Police in a drive arrested Saiful Islam from his residence after filing a case in this connection.
The victim’s mother filed a case in this connection on Monday, the police official said.
According to case, Saiful took his daughter at the house of his first wife at Barishur in the name of visit some heritage sight on March 14. The victim’s mother went to the house based on information and saw that her husband and daughter in nude condition. The girl alleged that her father raped forcibly in the house.
The girl took primary treatment in a local hospital. Later she was admitted at DMCH on March 16 when her condition was deteriorated.
Saiful got the second marriage with the woman in 2006 after divorcing by her first husband when the girl was in five year’s old.
The new couple has a four-year baby boy.
