UNB, Thakurgaon :
Police detained a man for allegedly raping a minor girl in Mohalbari area of Ranishankail municipality on Wednesday.
The accused was identified as Tuhin, a scrapped metal trader of Mohalbari area, said Abdul Mannan, officer-in-charge of Ranishankail Police Station. Tuhin took the class-V student to his residence when she was returning home from school and violated her, police said quoting locals.
Hearing her screaming, locals rushed to the spot and detained Tuhin. Later he was handed over to police.
She sustained severe injuries during the incident, said police adding that she was taken to Ranishankail Upazila Health Complex. Later the duty doctor referred her to Thakurgaon Sadar Hispital considering the severity the injury.
