Police arrested a man on Monday suspecting his involvement in the petrol bomb attack on a passenger bus at Mithapukur Upazila in Rangpur district recently.
The arrested man has been identified as Bulbul Ahmed, 33, son of Bulu Mia from Enathpur village of the upazila.
With his arrest, the number of detainees rose to 20 in this regard.
Quoting from Rangpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Abdur Razzak, our Rangpur Correspondent said that the police from Mithapukur Police Station conducted a raid early yesterday and arrested 38 people.
Of them, Bulbul Ahmed was arrested suspecting his involvement in the petrol bomb attack, which left five people dead and some others injured on January 14.
The police officer said, Bulbul is an active activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir, a student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
