Man held by RAB dies of ‘stroke’ in city

A man died allegedly of ‘a stroke’ after he was held in a drive by a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Pearabagh of Moghbazar area in the capital on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Moinuddin Biplob, 48, a resident of the area and a caretaker of a market in Gulshan area of the city.
Sub-inspector Emdad quoting RAB officials said a team of RAB-3 conducted a drive at Pearabagh and held Biplob along with some narcotics from his residence at the area around 8:30pm.
Biplob reportedly suffered ‘a stroke’ after the Rab members had detained him.
When the RAB members took him to Moghbazar Community Hospital, the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
On information, a team of Ramna Police Station went to the spot and recovered the body.
