Man hacks wife in Dhaka lower court premises

Failing to get dowry, a man hacked his wife with a lethal weapon inside Dhaka lower court premises on Wednesday (August 3). The victim Rahima Khatun is fighting for life in Dhaka Medical College & Hospital (DMCH).
Sadly none came in aid of the ill fatted woman.
Following the incident, police arrested the accused Nuruzzaman and his accomplice Kamrul Islam.
Sarmin Aktar, elder sister of the victim, filed a case with Katwali Police Station on Thursday (August 4).
Anil Chandra Roy, Sub-Inspector and Investigative Officer (IO) of the case, produced the accused in the court seeking seven days remand. Later, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate
Atiqul Islam granted one-day remand. According to the case statement, Nuruzzaman raped Rahima Khatun alluring her of marriage in 2018. Later, a rape case was filed against Nuruzzaman as he refused to marry Rahima. At one stage, they got married on April 4, 2019. But the guy allegedly tortured his wife asking for dowry. Then, the victim filed the case on March 10, last year. The court had issued a notice to the family members of the woman for appearance on Tuesday.
