UNB, Sirajganj :
A court here on Monday sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for raping a housewife at gun point in Natunpara village of Shahjadpur upazila in the district in 2006. Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 Judge Fazle Khoda Nazir passed the order and also fined the convict Tk 10,000 in default three months jail.
The convict – Sona Ullah, 45, son of late Joidhar Ali of Balabari village of Belkuchi upazila has been on the run.
Public Prosecutor Sheikh Abdul Hamid said on March 8 in 2006, Sona Mia broke into a woman’s house and raped her at gun point at Ghorshal Natunpara in the upazila.
