A court here Wednesday sentenced a man to death sentence for murdering his wife in Nalitabari Upazila of the district in 2019.
District Judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Md Akhteruzzaman handed down the verdict to Anisur Rahman Anis, 26, hailed from Charpara village in the upazila.
According to the prosecution on February 13 in 2019, the woman Taslima was strangled to death by husband Anisur Rahman at their house. Following the murder, woman’s father filed a case accusing Anis next day with Nalitabari Thana. Police pressed the charge sheet on April 2 after investigation.
Testifying witnesses and evidences the court gave the order in his presence. The court also fined Anis Tk 5000.
