A court here on Thursday sentenced a man to 10 years’ imprisonment in a case filed for attempting to kill his neighbour in Kathalia upazila in 2015.
The convict, Abul Hossain, a resident of Patikhalghata village of the upazila, was also fined Tk 10,000, in default, to suffer six months more jail.
Jhalakati Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Abu Shamim Azad handed down the verdict.
According to the prosecution, the convict hacked his neighbour Kabir Hossain following previous enmity on May 23, 2015, leaving him injured.
Bakul Begum, sister of the victim, filed a case against him.
