UNB, Keraniganj :
Police recovered the body of an old man from his newly-constructed three-storey building at Kholamora in Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka district on Friday evening.
The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam Sayed, 60, hailing from Chitcoat in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj district.
The victim’s son, Imdadul Islam, said his father had started living in their three-storey building
at Block-B on the Road no. 6 at Kholamora on Thursday night after its construction completed recently.
Imdadul came to the house on Friday afternoon as his father’s mobile phone had been found switched off since Thursday night and found the body of his father lying in a bathroom of the house.
Imdadul alleged some local terrorists, who had earlier demanded Tk10 lakh from them as toll for constructing the building, might have strangulated his father to death for refusal to pay the money.
