A man was found dead in a filed at Parankhali in Bheramara upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Mantu, 38, a matchmaker by profession and son of late Nabir Uddin of Kuchiamora village in the upazila.
Quoting witnesses, police said, being informed by local people, police recovered the body of Mantu from the field around 10 am and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital.
Family sources said Mantu had gone out of the house on Saturday and they could not contact him since Saturday evening. Tajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bheramara Police Station, said the reason behind the killing could not be known yet.
However, miscreants might have strangulated him to death over previous enmity.
Besides, his eyes were gouged out, added the OC.
