A man drowned in Karnaphuli River in the Port City on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Nur, 45, son of Amanat Ullah, hailed from Shah Mirpur area under Karnaphuli thana.Ala Uddin Talukdar, assistant sub-inspector of Chattogram Medical College Police outpost, said Nur drowned in river while collecting coal on the bank of the river in the afternoon.
Rescuing him, locals brought him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
