Man dies in cop custody

A youth was died in Mipur Police Station hours after his arrest early Sunday and the deceased has been identified as Mahbubur Rahman Sujon, 35, son of Meher Ali Shikdar who accused several cases in different police staations, police said.
Dhaka police’s Mirpur zone Deputy Commissioner (DC) Imtiaz Ahmed said that the Hajaribagh police arrested Sujon with two magazines and 10 bullets around 1:00am and handed him over to the Mirpur Police Station.
Sujon was rushed to the Suhrawardy Hospital at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar after he complained of
 respiratory problem, but he could not be saved, the police official said.
The body has sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) mortuary for the post mortem, he said.
Imtiaz Ahmed claimed that Sujon was involved in criminal activities in Mirpur and its adjacent areas, had been for long hiding in Hajaribagh in the capital.
The DC said that a three-member probe body was formed to investigate into the death incident at Mirpur police station in the city on Sunday. Dhaka Metropolitan police (DMP) Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasim Uddin was made head of the committee.
The committee was asked to submit its report to within seven working days.
Following the incident, steps will be taken after getting the report from the probe body, the police official said.
Mirpur Model Thana Officer-in-Charge Salauddin Ahmed said that Sujan was enlisted terrorist.
