A man committed suicide after killing his wife at West Deobhag Adorsho Nagar under Fatullah upazila of Narayanganj district on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Jamal Hossain, 35, owner of tea stall, and his wife as Poli Begum,28, RMG worker of Fakir Garment. Both are from
Moidasree Nagar village of Patuakhali district.
Local sources said that Zaman stabbed his wife Poli with a sharp weapon and beat her indiscriminately with a stick over family feud in their rented house at midnight, leaving her unconscious. Later, Zaman took poison.
The relatives rescued them and sent to Narayanganj General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Poli dead and referred Zaman to Dhaka. He died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
